Each country has a typical path taken through education, and they can vary wildly, depending on where you are. To help make sure that your character is realistic, we've put together a guide to some of the most likely countries to be associated with the Stargate Project. These are just the basic timescales and qualifications, and there will be some differences, depending on field of study and your country. If in doubt, please yell at an admin for clarification.

USA- High School Diploma - age 18
- Associate Degree - two years, standard completion at age 20
AND/OR - Bachelors Degree - four years (or two if topping up an Associate degree), standard completion at age 22
- Masters Degree - two or three years, standard completion at age 24 or 25
- PhD - four years, standard completion at age 28 or 29
Canada- High School Diploma - age 18 (17 in Quebec)
- Bachelors degree - three years (four in Quebec) - standard completion at age 21
- Masters degree - two years - standard completion at age 23
- PhD - three years - standard completion at age 26
UK- A levels/BTEC National Diploma - age 18
- Bachelors degree - three years - standard completion at age 21
- Masters degree - one year (two for research based degrees) - standard completion at age 22-23
- PhD - three years - standard completion at age 25 or 26
Australia- Higher School Certificate/Certificate of Education - age 18
- Bachelors degree - three or four years - standard completion at age 21 or 22
- Masters degree - one or two years - standard completion between the ages of 22 and 24
- PhD - three or four years - standard completion between the ages of 25 and 28
New Zealand- NCEA - age 18
- Bachelors degree - three years - standard completion at age 21 (or 22 if Honours taken)
- Masters degree - two years (or one if already holding a Bachelors degree with honours) - standard completion at age 23
- PhD - three or four years - standard completion at age 26 or 27
France (and most other European Union countries)- Baccalauréat - age 18
- Licence and Licence Professionnelle (Bachelor) - three years - standard completion at age 21
- Master - two years - standard completion at age 23
- Doctorat - three years - standard completion at age 26
