The armoury doors closed with a clunk, and a whooshing noise filled the ears of those inside. The emergency lights went out, and there was silence for a second.

Then a thunk, and a grunt, and the sound of a body hitting the floor.

The emergency lights flickered back on, and Shawn Booth was on the cold concrete, blood oozing from a wound on his head, and, at first glance, it was impossible to tell whether he was alive or dead.

James had been outside of the armoury when suddenly the doors closed and the emergency lights went out. He made a quick headcount and saw that there was one person not out. Booth. A sound came from inside. Something was happening. The Major rushed to the door and tried to pry it open, to avail.

A few moments later the lights went on again, and the door opened. Booth was on the ground, bleeding. James assumed everyone knew basic first-aid. Which was all they could give him here. They had to bring him to the infirmary.

The Major wasn't about to split his team up just yet. Especially with whatever was roaming around there having just attacked one of his lads. They'd first go to the infirmary, and then swing back to the labs for the Doctor's device.

"Right-oh. Let's get him to the doctors then." James said after seeing the Sergeant was done bandaging Booth. Once more, James stepped out of the armoury, and took the lead towards the infirmary.

Shawn was walking down the hall when everything went black. All of the training and years of experience down the drain in the middle of a top secret underground military installation, what should be the most secure or one of the most secure and he still got taken down from behind by an unknown hostile.

Shawn could feel the cold hard ground against his face, hands and body, yet couldn't move. Vision blurry, and just the numb feeling. Shawn knew he didn't get shot, there was no noise, he knew he didn't get stabbed either, but something happened. He could feel the blood on his face and the puddle forming on his cheek touching the floor.

He was never shot or wounded before but he didn't like the feeling. He was overseas in Afghanistan and served on a lot of high risk, dangerous missions yet never found himself in a situation like this. He had no idea what happened, no memory of being taken down, just standing in the dark hall adjusting the night vision goggles as the lights were off temporarily then lights were out for good as he hit the ground.

Shawn was patched up and the wound wasn't as bad as he originally thought it was but there was definitely a lot of blood and that monster or alien or whatever it was is still on the loose.

"Right-oh. Let's get him to the doctors then." Shawn heard the Major say and he leaned back against the wall. "Yeah, normally I would refuse, but I won't do that right now. My head is killing me, but on the bright side, I am regaining the feeling in my body, it's not numb anymore."

There had been no warning before the doors to the armory had suddenly slammed shut, and Sophie had once more that day been plunged into unexpected darkness. In the brief seconds it took her to react, she could feel panic rising once more, before her brain remembered the NVG she’d shoved on would rectify the situation. Although the message from brain to arm took micro seconds, Sophie was still slow to react, and as she pulled the clunky gear down into place, the lights flickered back and she clamped her eyes shut to block out the lens flare.

Ripping them back off her face, Sophie blinked once, twice and then again as she fought the dots that danced about her vision. Moving back a step she almost stumbled over the lip of the step into the armory, whose doors had slid open once more, obviously linked in some way to the emergency lighting.

Twisting around she spotted the figure, prone on the floor, the pool of blood slowly oozing out from a head wound. There wasn’t chance to say anything before Mulholland swept past her, clearly having spotted the figure, who Sophie realized was Booth. Another figure moved past her, and dropped to their knees beside him, already in the motion of basic first aid. She was relieved that no one had instantly looked to her for assistance, all too many times people assumed that Dr meant MD, and it was annoying to admit constantly at whilst she was highly skilled in the biology of people, that actual first aid was not a part of her skill set.

"First stupid question - Did you see what hit you .... follow up question, where did it go?"

Telford still didn't know where the Aussie wanted him in the cavalcade, but it became a moot point when the lights went out and the armory door suddenly shut behind all but one of the team, cutting them off from the young, fair-haired man who'd been lagging slightly behind the rest of the team. Booth, the OSI agent remembered as he put his back instinctively to the closest wall. One hand went to the butt of his pistol, but he made no effort to draw the weapon, more interested in keeping track of it than potentially firing blind in a concrete hallway.

A moment later the lights returned and the door reopened, but Telford remained where he was. Taking up station in the doorway, he kept track by ear of what was happening in the armor while he stood guard just to one side of the door and monitored the hall.

Shawn slowly stood using the wall to help him and apparently he got up too fast and ended up with a dizzy spell, he caught his balance and stood on his own two feet feeling he hasn't stood in years. Whatever it was that knocked him on his face was clearly pretty powerful, maybe a Goa'uld or something big enough to be taller than him and stronger than him to knock him down the way it did. He wasn't sure what hit him but he didn't really want to find out either but he kept his semi-automatic rifle in his hands as he was ready to use it.

"First stupid question - Did you see what hit you .... follow up question, where did it go?" Shawn thought about it again and shook his head. "Negative Doc, I just got knocked on my ass, I didn't see or hear it, whatever it was... I just know it was big and strong." Shawn said not really sure what else to say. He did hear something as he was attacked though but he thought it may just be his mind playing tricks on him, no need to say something that probably was only in his mind.

He left the armory as he began to walk to the infirmary, a little rest would help but where he may have a concussion, the Doc probably wouldn't let him sleep anyways. He would probably... no definitely need stitches in his head and some pain killers, he could mask the pain but it's pretty hard to hide it from the Doctor who deals with military types all the time...

Booth managed to walk on his own, which was a good sign at least. As the group moved to the infirmary, Booth and the Doctor were talking. While Jim didn't have anything to ask right now other than anything he might've seen of his attacker, he was beaten to the question. For the remainder of the trip, he kept his ear on the conversation so he knew what was being said.

The team was moving at a steady pace. Not too quick, but also not too slow. Just right. They did have a sweet to do, of course, and Jim led his people through a longer route than normal in order to at get back on schedule.

After several minutes, the group arrived at the infirmary where everything was business as usual. The Major got one of the medical doctors to take a look at Booth while he took watch just inside, but still at the door. "What do you make of all this, mate?" he asked Telford after he came in.

((Okay... either a post in this thread within 24 hours, or shit goes down. For real. If you're godmodding and moving things outside the confines of the thread, you take the consequences. You've already had your stupidity warning, so don't make me wave the next one...))
