INTERCOM: Six Person Team going through, SG-11 gating off world. Dialing.

The sound of the gate beginning to rotate in preparation for it's dialing process filled the room as the team members of SG-11 began to arrive for the scheduled transition to P7X-225 to scout the planet for signs of the lost Tok'ra, Darrion. General Hammond stood behind the dialing staff watching the activity below through the observation panel but otherwise remaining impassive.

Sophie hesitated outside the door listening to the sound of the activity within the gateroom. She’d had to change into fatigues, and the stiff material felt foreign to her normal jeans and t shirt sort of garb. Her back pack was stocked with all she could think may be needed, which was a basic chemistry set and some odds and sods. It didn’t rattle, and felt solid and heavy as it rested between her shoulder blades.

She’d been asked if she needed a side arm when she got the clothes, and had balked at the idea of carrying the weapon, luckily her stammering that she was just the scientist along for the ride, seemed to satisfy the requisition clerk who didn’t look overly impressed at the red heads quaking.
Now as she stood outside, leaning forward, palms resting on best knees, she breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth before straightening up and walking through the doors into the open space the Gate occupied.

The currently empty circle loomed over her and reflexively she gulped, fingers going for the thing silver chain round her neck where her rings hung. She was nervous, scratch that, she was terrified. She’d been through the Gate once before to visit the Alpha site when she was brand new to the S.G.C, the trip into the void had been one she was not eager to repeat, finding the sensation to be disorientating and nauseating.

Yet here she was again – Maybe it got better the more you did it – That logic was true for a lot of other activities.

James walked up behind the woman that had been in the briefing who he had figured out was Dr. Sophie Edwards. She was standing just outside the gateroom. He almost didn't recognize her in fatigues. He was dressed similarly, down to the back he carried. He was sure their packs contained different things, as he realized she wasn't an archaeologist, but from the outside they looked very similar.

His own was filled with several archaeology texts (including a copy of the Mayan Popol Vuh for reference if needed and a book on translating Mayan glyphs), his normal archaeology field kit (including a Munsell Soil Color Book, a Marshalltown trowel, a small hand pick, a tape measure, an all-weather notebook, several paint brushes, a camera, and several photographic north arrows and scales), and his jungle camping gear (including an ultra-lightweight bug-proof hammock and rain-gear). He had learned that hammocks and rain-gear were a necessity in any over-night trek in the jungle. The pack weight he was used to, although this was a slightly different style pack than he was used to.

He noticed the doctor wasn't wearing a side arm. He had accepted when he was asked if he wanted to carry one, but he was told not to fire unless in mortal danger. He was a good shot with a pistol, but was surprised he was given one. The quartermaster seemed somewhat hesitant until he saw James handle the firearm. He had the civilian version of the Baretta M9 back home.

James cleared his throat before speaking in the hope that he wouldn't startle the already visibly nervous woman, "You look 'bout as nervous as I feel. I don't think we have been formally introduced. My name's James. James Price. You're Dr. Edwards, right?" He glanced at the big ominously gaping circle in front of them and continued, "You ever been through this thing?"

Wasn’t the first time he’d hopped through the gate into a completely unfamiliar environment on a mission without a whole lot of intel, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. For half of this group, this trip was their first time as bona fide Stargate travelers--for Nathan, it was Monday.

He arrived at the embarkation room shortly after their two doctors had shown up, giving them a polite smile and tug of his cap as he came up beside Price. Slung across his chest was an M4A1 SOPMOD rifle, a weapon he’d used quite often during his time serving with the SAS and had adopted as his preferred firearm when going offworld. Even if it liked to malfunction if it was so much as sneezed on, the American-made design had otherwise been fairly reliable both on Earth and across the galaxy.

Price more or less seemed to have the look of excitement Nathan would expect from anyone preparing for their first gate trip, while Edwards…. didn’t. He couldn’t help but smile just a hint at the sight; travel by wormhole took some acclamation, as had been evident on his own first few missions offworld. Sometimes he wondered if any alien animals had come along and found the hidden little areas where his lunch had managed to settle on another planet.

”If I might interrupt?” Nathan spoke up in his distinct accent after Price had questioned Edwards about whether or not she’d been through the gate before. ”Exhaling right before stepping through helps. You’ll feel much looser in the chest when you arrive on the other end.”

Sun-hi arrived in her fatigues, gear and weapons ready. She was quiet, reserved and not going to give anyone the slightest hint as to her mood. Her enigmatic expression would serve her well. She stood behind the three and allowed them to converse. Her scars barely crinkled as she adjusted her weight. Her focus was on the mission objectives and how to best achieve them and keep everyone together without becoming as scrambled as the first half of Agents of SHIELD.

Speaking of, she wondered if she'd be home to watch it. Perhaps it would be best to get Tessa to record it, barring Isla doesn't accidentally delete it like she did the last half of Doctor Who. Now that reminded Sunny to talk to Tessa about where Doctor Who was and how many episodes had gone by.

Rolling her shoulders back, Sunny heard a few pops in her joints. It didn't phase her one bit, as she stared blankly ahead of her just waiting for them to get the signal. So they could go through the gate and get this over with. The sooner, the better she figured although why in the world a Cryptological Linguist was being assigned to this she hadn't a clue, other than an extra military body who can shoot at targets accurately and not be as off target as some kid playing Call of Duty.

Sunny wasn't about to let anyone know that this would be her first time through the gate and just listened to the conversation before her. Rolling her neck she could hear her joints pop again, she'd really need to get that checked out. Or go to that acupuncturist again, maybe Tessa could make her an appointment.

Ahh jumping, it was the most fun thing to do. Getting pulled into tiny pieces and rebuild at the other side. What else does a soldier wish for right? Thomas gets his uniform closed as he walked into the Gateroom seeing everyone getting ready for the jump and the gate already at chevron 5. He smiled and looked at the scared two doctors as he patch Kendall on his shoulder.

”Exhaling right before stepping through helps. You’ll feel much looser in the chest when you arrive on the other end.”

"He is as right as you can get docs, Lieutenant I want you to follow me as soon as I am in. We secure the area for the civilians" Thomas looked at Sun-hi hoping she got the message as well. Thomas looked at Edwards knowing that this will be her first jump "Don't worry doc, its a cat jump....very big cat jump"

Looking around he then looks at the Gateroom personal "Where is Doctor Jackson?" With that said the gate opens up as Thomas looked at it blue mass and back at the window "We got to go"

The general was looking into it as the door open at Thomas side seeing a rushing Dr Jackson coming in apologizing for his being late. Thomas was warned by Colonel O'Neill that he had a habit of doing this with gate jumps. So Thomas smiled and turned around towards the people as he walked up the ramp as the gate was already active.

Turning around towards his team "Lets get exploring shall we?" Thomas said as he take a better grip of his rifle and looked at the General "SG-11 is departing" he stated receiving a brief nod of the General. Thomas looked at the liquid blue field as he stepped through it. Daniel did not hear the early order and followed the Colonel already before any other military could follow.

OOC: Please post your gate jump and lets get this mission going!

She jumped a little at the sudden human noise, turning Sophie offered an apologetic but warm smile at the man responsible.

“Hi, that obvious, huh?”
She glanced up at the gate once again, and then back to Price, “Sophie Edwards, pleasure to meet you” She turned back to stare at the ring as another chevron locked, and felt the small tingle of panic threaten to usurp her breakfast. “Yes, once – It’s an experience” She laughed nervously.

The new comer to the room, clad in fatigues and looking surprisingly friendly interrupted at that point with information that Sophie could have used the last time she went through. It dawned on her that she hadn’t imagined the familiar accent after all. He was a Brit, and she wasn’t sure why it made her happy to realise that there was someone else from home here, “Thanks. I’ll try to remember that” Smiling again, this time with a little more conviction, she nodded at the only other female in the room, before turning her attentions back to leader of their pack.

Jumping as the gate whooshed into the room, Sophie felt as though her ears had just popped simultaneously and repeatedly. Glancing round she counted heads and realised they were a man short, until the door burst open and Dr Jackson rushed in. Talk about cutting it fine.

Waiting for their commander to take the lead, Sophie walked towards the ramp apprehensively, aware that she could be seen, and hoping it was being noted that she was way out of her comfort zone. Breathing in, then out, in and then pushing all the air from her lungs, she shut her eyes and plunged face first into the blue.

James smiled at Dr. Edwards, "Nice to meet you too. I'm sure it'll be interesting." He tried to smile reassuringly at Sophie's nervous laugh, but he was nervous too, and her demeanor wasn't helping.

James nodded at the Brit's suggestion. "Thanks for the tip. I'll have'ta remember to do that. Names James Price. What's yours again?"

James glanced around the group, noticing the absence of the other archaeologist. His thoughts were momentarily voiced by Ryan.

Thomas Ryan wrote:

As if he heard Ryan's question, Dr. Jackson ran into the room spouting apologizes. James watched as Ryan entered the blue field and it enveloped him. Quickly followed by Jackson, and then Sophie.

He walked slowly up to the field, seemingly liquid, but standing vertically. His anxiousness increased, and he took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. He exhaled, closed his eyes, and stepped forward into the unknown.

Sunny heard Doctor Jackson and his many apologies. She merely side stepped to allow him to pass, deciding that she'd bring up the rear of the group. Soon enough the group began to head into the gate, and on her part she was just happy to finally be getting this chance. A chance to do something extraordinary, and maybe, just maybe get home and binge watch Orange is the New Black. Or, she could watch the World Unseen again that was always an option.

Walking toward the gate, she could hear her boots against the ramp and then she stood there for a moment admiring the gate, the chevrons and how she'll never get tired of it. Not ever, and then there she was walking through the blue and into the unknown.
