It took Caleb a second to realise the Captain was asking what was wrong with the car and not the picture he had just been shown. He really should try not to get distracted to easily but, well it wasn't often one came across a stranded person with car trouble that actually worked at the same place that you yourself was working. Of course he should be use to running into someone from the base whilst in the surrounding area's. It was quite surprising how the people working at Cheyenne were more like an over sized family inhabiting not only the mountain but some of the town as well.

"Well it definitely is not your alternator belt, which would have delayed you even longer," he said, leaning back into the engine. Seriously the amount of time he had spent hunched over car engines, ducking on Submarine it was a wonder he was as tall as he was.

He checked for any dripping oil or watch leaks and was happy that there was none there. There was one last place he could check, if it wasn't then well they were probably going to have to get a real car mechanic out to the guy, someone that was probably a bit more up to date with car engines than what he himself was.

Reaching towards the spark plugs, he checked the first one - all nice and secure - second one - again that was nice and secure, he did this for the others until he came to the last one. He had one last shot, one last shot to be right, feeling around he could feel how loose it was, it had clearly come loose in the Captains travels. Which was possible, the roads weren't always that smooth and any number of bumps could have knocked it loose.

Relief flooded through him as he found the problem, fixed it, catching his fingers slightly as he did so - another scratch to add to the collection - it had been an awful long time since he'd fixed a car. It was making him feel rather nostalgic, and he had a feeling he was going to be contacting home when he could next. His dad always loved hearing about any car he had fixed, it was their thing and it somehow kept them both close.

Standing up straight with a smile on his face, he gestured to the car engine, grease, dust and dirt smeared across his hands, top of his jeans and the bottom of his t-shirt, "Spark plug problem, it was loose, it's all fixed now though, you shouldn't have any more problems. Although probably best to get them checked next time it goes in for a service or anything like that."

At least it wasn't his alternator belt. That was good. He didn't feel like standing around here much longer. A few minutes later, the guy found what was wrong with the car. A spark plug. Of course everything breaks only a few weeks before she would have been checked out.

He extended his hand to the man. "Thanks, buddy." he said. "Can I offer you a ride into town? Or back to base?" he then asked.

“Nah that's okay, the walk will do just fine,” Caleb said, wiping his hands once more in his jeans. It was a good job he knew of a decent, well priced dry cleaners nearby, ones that were able to get car stains amongst other things out without asking too many questions. He probably really should look at investing in a property in the area, maybe that would mean less living at the mountain and more stability.

“Besides, don't want to make you late for all that cleaning you got to do for you girl,” he said. “See you around Captain.” He offered a friendly smile before leaving the area, he felt good that he had done his good deed for the day.

"Well, thanks a bunch" Robert said. Then he closed the hood, walked around the car to his door and sat down. He turned the key in the ignition and the car started. The Captain raised his hand to the Sailor as he drove off.
