Soooo yeah let's get one of these up.

Chris is a geek, plain and simple. To those on his level of tech thinking, he can prattle on for hours, or to those who are stationed above him, he'll do more listening, until he feels he has something to say.

He's also very very green and new to the SGC- As he's been in the military for only two years, and at an enlisted rate, he has spent a year and a half elsewhere, four months to get total security clearance, and that would leave him around two months to get situated in the Complex. He's very unsure of everything and everyone, and thus avoids people more than he seeks out social interaction.

Friends: Most people near his level of computer know-how can find his way into his understanding, but in the SGC he's too new to really have found that cluster of people. He's more concerned with finding his way around without getting too lost.

Lovers: Nothing to have in this category at the moment.

Enemies: He has yet to make any true enemies, other than the universal enemies of the Tau'ri.

Let me give you a brief introduction to Claire.

She's been on Atlantis for most of the last 16 months, and has been reassigned to the Beta Site as its CMO for a while to broaden her experience. She's friendly, laid back and easy going, but doesn't suffer fools gladly. She's used to working with a wide range of people, and, although she's primarily a surgeon (who used to specialise in paediatric emergency surgery), she gets stuck in wherever needed.

I could see them possibly working towards a friendship, if they click?

Hey Claire,

I could totally see them interacting at some point- seems they're both relative strangers to the SG Complex. Their shared "take no crap" attitude could be an aspect they bond over. Either that or he could run into her in the course of his duties.

What might you have in mind? Any ideas for how we'd get the two of them interacting?

Claire has probably been back at the SGC for a few weeks now, so they may have run into one another already. In fact, she's probably the one who would have given Chris his medical before being assigned to the Beta Site - she's the kind of person who would have wanted to make sure that "her" personnel were in the best possible physical state before going to the Beta Site.

She's no stranger to the SGC, having spent 18 months or so there before going to Atlantis, so would also have been happy to help him out if she'd seen him around base looking a little lost!

Plenty of opportunity there, and, if we decide they've met before, we can work out the details afterwards.

Firstly Welcome to the Board, it's always nice to see new faces. XD

So Caleb is a Weapons Specialist, so if you ever want someone for Chris to prattle on about Tech to, am sure Caleb's the guy, although he probably really wouldn't understand too much of the computer side. He would definitly share the enthuasim.

Plus Caleb is a bit of a corrupter (in the good way of course.) so if Chris is really new, Caleb is likely to either lead him astray (again in the good way) or take him for drinks. Caleb is friendly enough guy to get along with, he is really laid back and although respects the chain of command he really only adheres to that in tough situations and when the time is approiate.

He's been on Atlantis for the last so many months, has come back to the SGC to go the Beta site, so he's probably still acclimatising to being back on solid ground once again. Am sure the two of them would have crossed paths at some point before heading out to the Beta site. Like I say Caleb is a fairly easy guy to get along with so if you have an idea, am all ears and pretty much open to anything.

Claire-

The ideas of the medcheck would probably work well, and it's definately a possibility. Odds are they have run into each other before, you're right, so the point would be at least where. As of yet I'd bet that he's getting lost a lot. Maybe he got lost trying to find the medical bay, who knows. Though he'd never overtly admit he's lost. I'm willing to try either of those secenarios.

If he's feeling inquisitive he'll probably be asking lots of questions about gate travel and the tech, as he's never been through the gate and somehow got assigned to go waaaaaaaay out there, so there's also that possibility.

Caleb-

Thanks, good to be here.

Well from how I built Chis, he's in need of a little corrupting to get that hardass out of his uniform, so that opens a lot of doors. Of course, your character is the Brit equivilant to Chris (E-4) as far as I can tell so they can probably interact on that level better than some of the other people out there in the military rankings.

Again, same as I said earlier with Claire, he's green and lost. Who knows, maybe they ran into each other outside the base, that'd be an interesting avenue to explore. In any event running into him on duty, you'd almost certainly find him running around like a chicken with it's head cut off doing work.

I think the medical check is probably the best bet, and Claire would have read his file in great detail, too, so she knows exactly who is going to be under her care at the camp. I'll pop a little nod into that in my post in the gateroom.

Corrupting Caleb can do, although it's more just see who could drink each other under the table than corrupting, Caleb a sailor he's only met one other person who on base who can drink him under the table and still be standing. ;)

Caleb is actually quite calm in pressured situations, so if you want to do something on base, Caleb is quite happy to be that calming prescence if Chris get's himself into a bit of mess? Or if Chris get's lost (I assume you mean lost as in literally takes a wrong turn ends up at the wrong door kinda lost?) he finds himself at some point where Caleb is working? Am open to either option, or if you got something in mind let me know?

Hello and welcome, Meredith Blake, Staff Sargeant and Combat Medic.

Mere has been with the S.G.C close to two years, and has been military since she left school, having done a variety of tours during her 10 years.

She is super social, and having grown up on a half dozen bases, as well as serving across several more, she has a lot of friends and a knack for making friends and will happily make friends with anyone who is open to the notion. She's used to being a new face, so will often spot the new comers and make efforts to introduce herself if she gets a chance.

I could easily see her just introducing herself in the Mess, or somewhere similar if she hasnt seen you before. Mere loves to play poker, have a beer, rock climb and jogs daily, so there is a tonne of places / activities that she could recommend. That said, she might just wander up, say hi, and then introduce you to some other people until you find your own group of soles to wander about with.

Unless you actively persue a romance with Mere, it isnt likely to happen. She isnt adverse to entanglements, but she prefers to be wooed, and one night stands arent her thing.

You actively have to go out of your way to be an arsehole for Mere to consider you an enemy. Mere is pretty hard to make an enemy of, although she is fiercley loyal to her own. If you pick a fight with one of her pals and she wanders into the fracas, she will throw a comment (or a punch if your really asking for it)

However dont let that put you off - Ultimately Mere is kind hearted, social with a humor bordering on the odd and heavily loaded with sarcasm.

It be lovely to see them interact

At some point Fia WILL track you down and introduce herself. That's how she is. Have no doubt they can be friends if they find common ground, she is a friendly kinda gal. No Romance though, She is firmly in the unavailable category. ;)

Tahirah will be tough to find common ground with, as her background is so different from anyone elses. She isn't technologically inclined, though she isn't inept either and probably knows more about Goa'uld tech than the average Joe. Perhaps the differences could be that draw that blossoms the friendship? She has just reached a point where she is opening up and possibly starting close relationships, so who knows where that could go.
