He's not prone to getting hurt, he's learned a lot of lessons about winning clean victories over the years, but while he doesn't particularly care for being a patient he -does- care about keeping his men healthy, safe, and well. So he's more than likely dragged a few of his subordinates into the Med Bay by the ear over the last two years. His kind of soldiers are prone to minor bone breaks in the feet and hands, as well as major bone breaks in the wrists and shoulders (which would be where your lady comes in at her specialty, though that's hardly a life threatening emergency I guess...). Also, skin problems of the feet get around in the field, especially chafing that leads to infections. It's why Taft carries six pairs of socks.
We can also cover her having seen him, and maybe a early interaction, through his tendency to come check on any of his men who have been injured. He is gruff, silent, and foreboding most of the time but this is his silent way of showing that he really cares... if the fact that he'll run into enemy fire to retrieve one of his boys doesn't say it already. If not through one of those ideas... he occasionally eats food so they could always be forced to sit together in the cafeteria.
